The Anonymous Society take on music of Morrissey and Marr

Anonymous Society – the ground-breaking company who achieved critical and public acclaim in 1999 with their inspirational take on the works of the singer-songwriter Jacques Brel – make their much anticipated return to the Lyric Hammersmith.

This time round, they bring their magic to the songs of Morrissey and Marr.

Using twenty songs that were originally performed by The Smiths, Anonymous Society present an original piece of music theatre, with six performers and a live string quartet.

The show draws on the mood, wit and passion of the writers’ words and music. A magnifying glass is held up to the lives of four women and two men, whose relationships unravel as the world they inhabit is dissected. A story as uplifting as it is achingly devastating.

'Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others' is being performed at the 30th June and 23rd July. The performances are in the evening at 8pm plus matinees on Saturday. The running time is approximately 90 minutes and the show does have some adult content so may not be suitable for under 16s. The is also a chance to meet the Company after the show on Monday 11th July.
