For the duration of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games, the open-air screen in the public plaza in front of 245 Hammersmith Road will be showing all the action.

After Team GB’s tremendous medal haul in Tokyo earlier this month, it is now the return of the Paralympians who have already had lots of success in the games.

Where the events aren’t live, the screens will show the highlights in the afternoon – so you can catch up with everything you missed in the early hours.

Deckchairs are provided, so you can sit back and cheer on the likes of Ellie Simmonds and John Stubbs.

You are encouraged to bring a picnic and drinks to make a day of it. It’s free of charge and starts at 12pm each day, and runs until about 6pm.

The screenings at the plaza are part of Hammersmith’s ‘staycation’ summer festival of fun. There’s still several more events to come - including Mexicolumbia Festival on Saturday 4 September featuring Latin American music, food and dance.

Full details are on the Hammersmith BID website.

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets.
