The Good Life Comes To Hammersmith

Make your friends green with envy at the Hammersmith Environmental Festival

A free party in Hammersmith promoting environmentally friendly ways of living will leave residents of other boroughs green with envy.

The event in Furnivall Gardens on Sunday, June 17, will give visitors a chance to find out about environmental issues, meet community campaign groups, hear live music and nibble on good foot.

There will be stalls with exhibitors showing off cutting-edge green technology as well as the chance to discuss issues with environmental campaign groups.

It will give residents the chance to learn about everything from fruit and veg hampers to fuel-cell buses, real nappies, Fairtrade clothing, composting and recycling your furniture.

The Company of Cyclists will be providing bike tryouts, giving cycling enthusiasts a chance to try a recumbent bike, or carry children on a bike with a child seat or trailer.

Meet experienced cyclists, talk to TfL and transport planners about how your journeys could be simpler.

There will be live music throughout the afternoon, children's activities, a city farm and vegetarian and organic food.

There will also be a chance to win a free bike.
