Powerful Irish Drama returns to Hammersmith
Irish Repertory Theatre UK, Riverside Studios and Hammersmith Irish Centre Present
'Dance Hall Days'
Scripted and Directed By Rosalind Scanlon / Movement Director Clive Clarke
From August 8th-27th
at Riverside Studios.
After its huge success in August 2004, this powerful Irish drama returns to Riverside Studios for a 3 week run.
Set in a rural Irish dance hall in the 1950's, 'Dance Hall Days' is an exciting theatre piece which incorporates Irish dancing, singing and a live Irish band.
Featuring a vibrant cast of 30 Irish actors, the play was devised from some stories shared
by elders in London's Irish community, who attended the dance halls in their youth.
A powerful dramatic retelling of romantic, powerful and poignant stories from the 1950s Irish dance halls, with Irish dancing, singing and live band, Frankie & The Bluetones.
Irish Repertory Theatre UK brings new and classic Irish theatre to the London stage and provides platforms for new and up and coming Irish actors living in the UK. Rosalind Scanlon's previous productions include the hit show 'Molly Malone the Musical', 'Eclipsed', 'Under My Two Bare Feet', 'Up On Maidens Hill', 'Sive' and 'Sharon's Grave'.
