Hammersmith Society Hands Out Awards

The Best and the Worst of the local scene to be recognised

The Hammersmith Society is hosting its prestigious awards ceremony on Wednesday 13 June at 7pm. This year the presentations will be made by their Patron, The Mayor of Hammersmith and Fulham.

The Society's AGM is being held at Jasmine Studios, 186/188 Shepherd's Bush Road, which was awarded our Norah Stucken Award in 2006.

As well as the formal part of the meeting, review of the past year and presentation of Awards, this is also an occasion to meet over a glass of wine and chat informally about the local issues facing us all.

The Hammersmith Society Awards Judges have visited the following sites which have been nominated for the 2007 Awards. The winning scheme will be announced at the Society’s AGM.

The entries up for the Awards are:

  • The refurbished and restored shop fronts at 113-129 Shepherds Bush Road
  • Fine restoration of the large semi-detached private house at 300 Goldhawk Road
  • Threshold Housing Association housing scheme on south side of Westway
  • Infill office development at 31 Vernon Street (behind the old Magistrates’ Court)
  • Jack Tizard School

In addition to the announcement of the winner’s of the main Awards, there will also be the award of Wooden Spoons for where it has all gone wrong!
