Fulham Xmas lights switch on next Friday

Fulham is about to be decked out in seasonal splendour as the switch is flicked on the town centre’s Christmas lights on December 2nd.

A motley live band of superheroes, including Batman, Catwoman and Superwoman, will do the honours to spark up the lighting for the streets of Fulham.

Hammersmith & Fulham council leader, Councillor Stephen Burke, said the annual event ushered in the festive season in Fulham.

“The council puts the lights up every year to help bring Christmas cheer to the people of the borough. Christmas is the time of year to celebrate our families and our community and the council is proud to be part of these seasonal celebrations.

“I’d encourage all residents who can make it to come and join us and be merry.”

The celebrations in Fulham will last from 3.30pm to 8pm, taking in the Christmas light switch on at 6pm on Fulham Island/St John’s Church, Santa at St John’s Church which will be opened by Mayor Charlie Treloggan at 4pm along with a host of other entertainment both inside and outside of the Church. Activities include stilt walkers and clowns, along with a selection of stalls, Santa’s Grotto, face painting, a raffle an auction and much much more.

The Mayor will also flick the switch for the Christmas lights in the Fulham Broadway Shopping Centre at 5pm, along with two Chelsea football players and the Chelsea lion.
