INDECENT ASSAULT

Male guilty of Indecent Assault on a girl under 16

At the Central Criminal Court on 20/12, Baron Bloom was found guilty of indecent assault on a girl under the age of 16, relating to an offence committed in Sept 2001 against a 15 year old girl.
He was found not guilty on a count of indecent assault on a different girl aged 15 relating to an offence committed on a 14 year old girl.

The jury was unable to reach a verdict on a second count of indecent assault against the same girl committed in the same time period.

Sentencing was adjourned to a date to be set.

DS Andy Rawling from Hammersmith CID said: "Today's verdict indicates how Baron Bloom used his wealth and lifestyle to take advantage of this teenage girl and then illegally commit a sexual act with her. This case acts as a stark warning to adults about appropriate behaviour towards children and young people.

I would like to praise the two girls in this case for coming forward to police and remaining brave throughout what must have been a traumatic ordeal at court."
