A Hammersmith based Irish dancing troupe has battled through two qualifying rounds to be selected for the World Championships in Belfast on April 4th to 12th 2004 - but their trip is in doubt due to lack of funds.

Aaron Crosbie Irish Dance Academy .Co comprising 25 children (aged 12-20) need help with travel and hotel expenses, as well as new costumes for the competition.

Dance teacher, Aaron Crosbie said: "We have the talent and the champions within the academy, many of the children are expected to reach the finals and hopefully take home a world title to London"

The Mayor, Cllr Charlie Treloggan, is backing their efforts: "I think it has been a great achievement for the children to gain qualification for the World Championships and it would be a great shame if they cannot go due to lack of funds."
