He is simply a worldwide icon. Known as "The Godfather of Soul", the "King of Funk", "The Hardest Working Man In Show Business", "Mr. Dynamite", James Brown will be playing a rare, one off gig in London on 02 July.

His recording career already includes 119 charted singles and over 50 best-selling albums and he is promoting now his latest album "Seven Decades of Funk" with a series of worldwide appearances. This comes 40 years after his groundbreaking "Live At The Apollo" album, which helped confirm his status as one of the most dynamic performers in the world. But in 1962 he played at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem, New York; this time he will be nearby at the Carling Apollo.

Doors open at 7.00pm and special live guests are expected to be announced over the coming weeks. Tickets for the event are £28.50 advance.
