Lyric Nights commences on May 12th with the exclusive London show by Giant Sand front-man Howe Gelb in the wake of his new album, 'The Listener'. He will be utilising musicians who played on the Danish recorded tracks from 'The Listener' including vocalist Marie Frank who will also perform her own set.

This will be followed on May 13th & 14th by Scotland's finest, The Delgados, playing two completely different sets over two nights - the first focussing on their now rarely performed early singles and albums and the second featuring the recent 'All You Need Is Hate' and Mercury Prize nominated 'The Great Eastern'.

For the three nights of May 15th, 16th & 17th, The Tiger Lillies give the first ever live airing of a suite of thirteen new songs inspired by the unpublished writings of Edward Gorey coinciding with the release of this work for EMI Classics. Compared by Julian Bleach, the MC from their outrageous Shockheaded Peter, The Tiger Lillies will be joined on stage by the internationally renowned Kronos Quartet. Presented in association with Cultural Industry.

On May 21st, Brighton based, British alt-country band Grand Drive play their first London date in 2003, the performance including special acoustic arrangements for strings of material from their recent album 'See The Morning In' and it's equally acclaimed predecessor 'True Love and High Adventure'.

Lyric Nights closes on May 27th & 28th with a special appearance by Yann Tiersen who plays his first public show in London since he packed the Royal Festival Hall in January 2002. Yann and his band will perform a selection of work including music from the phenomenal 'Amelie' soundtrack. Yann Tiersen's most recent work is soundtrack to 'Goodbye Lenin', a major hit film in Germany which won the prestigious Blue Angel Award for Best European Movie at the Berlin Film Festival last month.
