And invite local people to community gardening days

The Friends of Marcus Garvey Park are holding their first AGM this evening, Thursday May 1 at 6pm till 7.30pm at the Pizza Express on the corner of Hammersmith Road and Olympia Way.

The meeting will include the election of a committee consisting of a chairperson, vice-chairperson, secretary, treasurer and membership secretary and an update on work on the park, off North End Road.

No purchase is necessary and anyone interested in seeing their local park improved is welcome to come along.

Local people are also invited to join in the regular community gardening days. No experience is necessary, and all welcome! Learn about gardening and help to make a better local park, for young and old (and bees and bugs).

This month the gardening days are on May Sunday May 11  and Saturday May 31 from 2.30pm till 4.30pm, with  volunteers welcome to drop in any time.
