Lucie Bennett is set to electrify London's art-lovers with her next solo show RAUNCH at Caspar Dunstan Gallery. The opening will take place on March the 25th in Shepherd's Bush Road, to readdress controversial issues surrounding 'the female body' and acquaint the artist with a new crowd.

The collection, which will be exhibited from 26th March to 20th April, consists of 20 pieces in various sizes and depicts Wonderland fantasy worlds and simple graphic line paintings that encapsulate what is both erotic and mysterious about the female. Simple lines, flowery shapes and soft, curvaceous forms are created by using simple household gloss paint on industrial aluminium panels, producing a mirrored surface for a sleek, minimalist and seductive effect.

"I am fascinated by the primal nature of female sexuality," says Lucie Bennett about her upcoming venture. "This is reflected in the mythological and fantastical imagery that I use. My art proposes a different approach to what the female body represents for those who are willing to see it." Elspeth Moncrieff for The Art Newspaper writes of Lucie's work, "Bunny girls are traditionally compliant sexy little things but these ones crouch in combat position sporting automatic weapons and wearing high heeled boots and little else."

Meanwhile, the gallery owner Caspar Dunstan looks forward to opening this "long awaited and much inspiring exhibition, which will titillate and inspire".

Lucie Bennett will exhibit at the prestigious Armory Show in New York this month following exposure at The AAF Art Fair on the Upper West Side last November. In April, she is heading up a group show in Chelsea, New York. She has donated work to The Terrence Higgins Trust, which is to be auctioned at Christie's later this month. In April 2003, Bennett's liquid latex paintings were exhibited in Selfridges' window as part of the first art auction by text message with Britart. That month she also had her solo show FRILL at Space Gallery in Pimlico. Bennett gained a BA in Interactive Arts in Manchester, graduating in 1997 and also studied at L'Ecole Régionale des Beaux Arts de Nantes in France. Her work has featured in publications including The Art Newspaper, Metro, Soldier Magazine and Elle Decoration. Bennett also accepts work on private commissions.

Opened in October 2002, Caspar Dunstan is a gallery featuring artwork, exclusive furniture and artefacts from selected artists and craftsmen, using both traditional and contemporary materials.
