Schoolboy cricketers compete at Lords

Pupils from four Hammersmith & Fulham schools competed against each other at the Lord’s indoor cricket centre, next to the main ground in St John’s Wood, north London, last Wednesday (23 Feb).

The six-a-side indoor cricket tournament was a re-run of a previous competition which took place at Burlington Danes School sports hall, in Shepherds Bush, in January.
An official from the Inner London Schools’ Cricket Association attended the earlier tournament and was so impressed he invited the boys, aged 13 to 15, to compete at the Lord’s centre.

Burlington Danes School, who won the January competition, triumphed again – this time over Henry Compton School – with a thrilling last ball securing Burlington Danes victory by two runs. Phoenix High School came third and Hurlingham & Chelsea School fourth.
