The event is in support of HIV/Aids charities. The first, Grandma's, is a self-help group working for children and families mainly in London, but also in Bristol and Dublin. The second, Malawi-Aid, is a fundraising cycle trek-athon organized by Les Pratt, a senior BBC colleague of the choir Director Michael Emery.
