A seventh teenager has been charged with the murder of a 18-year-old student who died after being stabbed in the heart at a Tube station. Sayed Abbas, 18, a computer student of Afghanistan origin, had been playing football in nearby Beaversfield Park before a gang at Hounslow West Station stabbed him in the heart on 12 August. He was taken to West Middlesex hospital where he died soon after.
The Tube station had to be closed after the incident causing severe delays for holidaymakers on their way to Heathrow airport.
Mohammed Omar Ali, 18, of Hamlet Gardens, in Hammersmith, has been accused of viciously stabbing Abbas. He was remanded in custody at Feltham Magistrates’ Court to reappear for a preliminary hearing at the Old Bailey next Friday. Six other men were arrested and charged shortly after the murder: Oluwasey Ogunsanya, 19, Hassan Hassan, 18, both of Heston, west London, and four youths aged 15, 16, and two 17-year-olds, who cannot be named for legal reasons. All are currently remanded in custody.
