Employment and training initiative for West London Youth

Connexions London West offers advice, guidance and support plus personal development opportunities to West London's 100,000 plus, 13 to 19 year olds.

The Connexions Service is a national initiative providing every young person access to trained Personal Adviser (PA). PAs can provide young people with guidance on education, training and employment as well as help them tackle a range of issues that prevent them achieving their potential such as homelessness, drugs or bullying.

Connexions London West covers young people living in Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow Hillingdon and Hounslow and will provide 220 Personal Advisers who will be based in schools, colleges and 'first stop shops' in the community.

Connexions London West will provide briefings for all young people in education to help them with career and subject choices and more intensive intervention for those experiencing problems.

To encourage young people to contact Connexions London West for further advice and information, the service is running a competition with a monthly (regular) draw. Young people who contact the service via postcards or the Connexions London West website, between September and December, will automatically be entered into the competition and have the chance to win vouchers to put towards their favourite CD.
