Neighbour Net is building a family of local web-sites which, because of the sharing of resources, will be able to deliver excellent quality and content. We have developed proprietary software specifically for local community sites.
Essentially we are a franchise business. We provide software and support to franchisees operating sites for their local communities.
We are a Limited Company operating with a view to making a profit, but all our sites are conscious of their role in the community and offer free-hosting and design services to local non-profit organisations. We expect our franchisees to see the site as being primarily a useful social utility. The sites all provide free web design services to local community groups as well as free event promotion for non-commercial events.
The Company was founded in
1999 in West London and now is in the process of developing
sites across London in partnership with people local
to the areas covered by the site.
