Chance for local businesses to make quick-fire contacts and clients
Hammersmith & Fulham entrepreneurs are being given the opportunity to generate new business in the space of a few minutes by attending two ‘speed networking’ events in January and February free of charge.
Business owners who live or work in the borough can apply for complimentary tickets to attend the events, being held at the Ruby Blue restaurant and bar in central London on January 22 and February 26, and make valuable new contacts as they sit down with one entrepreneur after another for short, informal meetings.
The tickets are being sponsored by the Business Enterprise Centre, the council’s business support agency, in order to encourage small and medium-sized businesses to promote and market themselves. BEC not only helps entrepreneurs to draw up their business plans, develop their financial skills and find affordable premises, but also strives to showcase local businesses, such as at the West 12 Centre shopping centre in Shepherds Bush.
The speed networking evenings are being run by Speed-Networking.net, which regularly organises such events for London businesspeople.
Cllr Stainton, Hammersmith & Fulham cabinet member for regeneration, said, “we are determined to give local residents the opportunity to establish and run their own businesses. In part this means supporting and guiding new entrepreneurs through the difficult first few months of trading, by enabling them to raise their profile and expand their customer base. There’s no better way of doing this than by getting out, exchanging ideas and networking, so I urge business owners to visit the Speed-Networking.net website and reserve their tickets.”
Any business owner interested in attending the speed networking events should visit www.speed-networking.net and secure their ticket. Places are limited, and are being offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
Residents who are interested in starting their own business should contact BEC on 020 8746 0355 or visit www.bectek.co.uk
