Two People Rescued from Fire in Fulham Palace Road


A third man taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation

London Fire Brigade say that two people have been rescued, and another has escaped from a fire in the Hammersmith end of Fulham Palace Road.

The Brigade report: " Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters were called to a  fire in a block of flats on Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith, W6 this afternoon.

" The blaze damaged part of a flat on the ground floor of the five storey block. A man escaped from the property before the Brigade arrived and was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service suffering from smoke inhalation.

" Fire crews helped two other people to safety from the first floor of the building.

"The Brigade was called at 2.14pm and the fire was under control by 3pm. Fire crews from Hammersmith, Kensington and Fulham fire stations were at the scene.

"The cause of the fire is under investigation."
