But industrial action on Piccadilly line has been called off
TfL say travellers should expect very limited or no service on the Central line, as well at the Waterloo & City line, throughout today, Wednesday 7 November.
However, the overlapping 24 hour strike on the Piccadilly line has not gone ahead after the RMT announced its suspension.
The industrial action by tube drivers was called off after ‘sufficient progress’ was made in talks.
TfL says we can expect the Central and Waterloo & City lines will have very limited or no service throughout today, with normal services resuming tomorrow, Thursday 8 November.
Other TfL services will run as normal, but will be busy. Roads will be busier than usual.
The RMT confirmed 24 hours of strike action on London Underground’s Central Line would go ahead as planned from midnight last night till midnight tonight over what they describe as ‘a comprehensive breakdown in industrial relations, a failure to employ enough drivers, a wholesale abuse of agreed procedures and the victimisation of a trade union member’.
Mick Cash said, “The union is angry and frustrated that the management side have squandered a golden opportunity to resolve the issues at the heart of the dispute through the talks process. As a result of that management side failure the action goes ahead as planned”.
The Tube walking map shows average walking times between stations in zones 1-3.
