24 hour stoppage on 4th December
There will be very few services on the Piccadilly Line on December 4th (from midday) after workers voted for a 24 hour strike.
The Rail Maritime and Transport (RMT) union warned it will call a 48-hour strike later if the row with London Underground is not resolved.
RMT general secretary Bob Crow said:
"The overwhelming 88% vote in favour of strike action can leave management in no doubt that the union is not prepared to accept the continuing abuse of individual drivers and negotiated agreements on the Piccadilly Line."
A London Underground spokesman said: "The RMT's decision to call for a strike is completely unnecessary."
Piccadilly line manager Tony Matthews said: "We met with them earlier this week to talk through the unrelated local issues they have raised, all of which have either been or are being addressed.
"At this very productive meeting we gave our assurances to continue towards resolving these matters.
"I would urge the RMT leadership to continue to discuss any matters which they feel have not been dealt with, in the normal way rather than resorting to threats of industrial action."
TfL say if the strike goes ahead, only limited services will operate on the Piccadilly line - Heathrow customers are urged to seek alternative routes.
Customers are advised to check the TfL website or follow @piccadillyline on Twitter for the latest updates, and to use alternative routes where possible.
It is LU's intention to run a shuttle service between Cockfosters and Arnos Grove if possible and a service between Acton Town to Heathrow.
It is very unlikely that there will be a service between Rayners Lane and Ealing Common, so customers are advised to use nearby alternatives on the Metropolitan and Central lines.
