Dirty dogs and their owners made to clean up their act
Police in Hammersmith and Fulham are declaring war on naughty dogs and their owners in London's first ever Dog Watch scheme.
The scheme, which will run alongside existing Neighbourhood Watch initiatives in Fulham, will encourage people to report incidents of dog fouling, dogs being walked without leads or littering to their local safer neighbourhood team.
The Munster Ward Dog Watch is aimed at residents and dog owners living or using the streets, parks or green spaces in the immediate area.
PCSO Chris Smith, of Munster Ward Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “We would appreciate your feedback on the above issue.
"If you witness any sort of inappropriate behaviour such as dog fouling, littering or dogs being walked without leads please do not get involved in anything that may lead to a potential confrontation.
“ Instead, if possible, please make notes of the incident and report it to us.
“Safer Neighbourhood Team will then issue £75 Fixed Penalty Notice for any of those offences. "We hope that this initiative will make Munster Ward safer and nicer place to live and work."
If you have any queries or suggestions regarding this scheme, please do not hesitate to contact
