Daily tours of Emery Walker's preserved home

7 Hammersmith Terrace, once the riverside home of the printer Emery Walker, will re-open after a summer break this Thursday,September 3 for pre-booked guided tours.

Behind the Georgian exterior of this tall terraced house, the decoration and furnishings have been preserved exactly as they were in the lifetime of the printer Emery Walker (1851-1933), a great friend and mentor to William Morris.

It is the last authentic Arts and Crafts interior in Britain, and has has been open for small groups of visitors since 1999.

Until October 10, the house offers three tours daily on Thursdays, Fridays and some weekend days.

Tours last around one hour, and are limited to eight people at a time. Tickets costs £10, or full time student concession only, £5.
