Sean McTernan holds seminar for local creative businesses
Action Acton, as part of the Focus West programme (supporting the Creative Industries in West London), is hosting a legal and business advice workshop for businesses in Acton, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Park Royal.
A leading media lawyer, Sean McTernan, will deliver advice to combat all the legal and business problems you might encounter as you convert your ideas into commercial reality.
He has been advising a range of major broadcasters, independent Film & TV production companies, music businesses and publishers on business development and growth for over 20 years and one of his current projects is working with the BBC following the implications of the Hutton Report.
Starting with the law of confidence (to protect your idea) through to the contracts you need to protect your work, copyright and trademark, to the libel you may be including. He will outline your rights and libilities as well as how to exercise and control them. This will be an opportunity for businesses to ask specific questions regarding the issues they have rather than simply a lengthy presentation. Sean will be answering questions while providing examples of relevance to all attendees. This should be much more specifically useful than the usual seminar session.
Finally, as an experienced mediator he will explain the process of mediation in dispute resolution as opposed to the prohibitive cost of litigation.
This seminar will cost members of Focus West or Acton Business Forum £20 per person, or £25 for non-members. This fee is non re-fundable in the event of non-attendance.
