Story of two star-crossed lovers set to some of Puccini’s most beautiful music

As part of its summer season of 50 performances across the country, The Garden Opera Company are delighted to be bringing opera – for the first time – to Ravenscourt Park.

One of the world’s most popular and captivating operas, with its emotionally charged story of two star-crossed lovers and some of Puccini’s most beautiful music, La bohème never fails to enthrall its audience.

Directed by Martin Lloyd-Evans, with costumes designed by Dulcie Best and a 1940’s Parisian set designed by Neil Irish, the opera brings into focus the fragility of young hearts entangled in a struggle for life and love amidst the harsh realities of bohemian life.

The performance is brought to you in Amanda Holden’s renowned English translation by a company of professional young singers and chamber musicians.

Whether an opera-lover or an absolute newcomer, their style is highly entertaining, intimate and accessible.

Light refreshments will be available at the nearby Park café or bring a picnic.
