Fulham FC Says Response to Grenfell Fire Has Been 'Wonderful'
But joins the council in asking public to stop donating to evacuees
Fulham Football Club has released a picture of the vast quantity of clothes, beddingm, toys and other essentaisl received at Craven Cottage for the Grenfell Fire evacuees - and asked fo the donations to stop.
The club says: "A reminder that there is now no more room at Craven Cottage or Motspur Park, and so we kindly request that fans do not bring us any further items.
"The response from the Fulham Faithful has been nothing short of wonderful in an attempt to help those affected by the Grenfell Tower fire, with a vast amount of clothes, food, baby products and toys donated.
"However, both the stadium and training ground are now at full capacity, with no more room for further donations."
The club's request follows a statement from Hammersmith and Fulham Council has released a statement this evening asking for no more donations to be made for the Grenfell Tower fire evacuees.
The council says: " Kensington and Chelsea Council has been inundated with donations for the people affected by the fire. They say ‘thank you’ to everybody but they now can’t take any more donations. So please don’t bring any more food or clothes to any of the Hammersmith & Fulham collection points. "
Instead, the council advises anyone wishing to volunteer or to donate money to visit Kensington and Chelsea Councils' Twitter account.
