Appeal for Help Finding Treasured Artwork Left on 220 Bus

The family of writer, musician and artist Peter Blegvad, who lives in Shepherd's Bush, are appealing for help finding some of his pictures after he left them on a 220 bus heading from Shepherd's Bush to Wandsworth at midday on Tuesday 24 September.

Peter's wife, artist and designer Chloe Fremantle, son Viggo and daughter Kaye have all taken to Twitter to ask local people for assistance finding the pictures, shown above and below.

Kaye tweeted @kayeblegvad: "London pals; my lovely dad has lost a tonne of his work on the bus, pieces he’s been working on for years. Lost yesterday 24/09, on the 220 to Wandsworth - he got off @ Shepherds Bush Green. 3 pics framed, 3 matted.

"Please spread the word and keep an eye out. Reward offered!!"

Viggo had the same message but added @ViggoBlegvad: " TWITTER! Please help - my ol painter dad has left a TONNE of work from the last years ON THE BUS! He's heartbroken."

Their mum Chloe, who like her husband has exhibited her work at a number of local studios and who also teaches yoga at Hammersmith's Grove Neighbourhood Centre, supplied further details, tweeting @ChloeFremantle: " HELP! These pictures were left on a 220 bus yesterday at W13, Shepherds Bush stop - heading to Wandsworth( 3 in black frames)- they took 6 months for Peter Blegvad to make-he is distraught.

" Please forward, retweet etc they were in bubble wrap in a big Cass Art plastic carrier bag."

After receiving many supportive messages, Kaye tweeted a follow-up message, saying: " thanks so much for the RTs and support today about my dad's lost artwork. No news yet but I'll update if they're found, and in the meantime I'm passing on all your kind messages to him."

Taught creative writing at Warwick University, was Senior Tutor in Visual Writing at the RCA and has taught at other institutions in the UK and abroad.
