The number 295 route is one that is being affected
December 15, 2025
Commuters and Christmas shoppers across West London face severe disruption this week as bus drivers at the Westbourne Park depot continue strike action. After a walkout last Friday (12 December) further action is scheduled for 15, 22, 23 and 24 December, coincide with the busiest travel period of the year and are expected to hit Acton, Fulham and Shepherd’s Bush particularly hard.
Seven key services are suspended or reduced, including:
Other affected routes include the 13, 31/N31 and 452, which together cover corridors through Notting Hill, Paddington, Chelsea and Victoria.
The 218 is an important route for residents travelling between North Acton, Shepherd’s Bush and Hammersmith. Its suspension leaves commuters reliant on already crowded Central Line services. The 295, which runs through Wandsworth and Battersea before reaching Fulham, is a key cross-river route. Its absence is expected to increase pressure on the District Line and local traffic. With both the 23 and 218 out of service shoppers trying to get to Westfield will face additional challenges.
Talks between unions and operators remain ongoing, but with further strike dates set, disruption looks certain to continue through the festive period. Passengers are advised to check Transport for London updates and plan alternative routes.
Unite says its members rejected the company’s pay offer as below inflation and has pledged full support to the workers taking industrial action.
