Area to participate in London in Bloom
Hammersmith & Fulham is to show its true striking colours when it participates in London in Bloom next week. On Wednesday 11 July, a group of judges will walk around the borough's parks and greens to decide which borough is the most beautiful of them all.
Hammersmith & Fulham Mayor, Councillor Minnie Scott Russell will be leading the judges on the day and will showcase our best parks and the volunteers who staff them.
The Mayor said, "London in Bloom is a great opportunity for the residents to be proud of Hammersmith & Fulham and flaunt our fabulous green areas to the other 32 boroughs competing in London."
The judges' route will begin at Imperial Wharf and showcase all the borough has to offer. Fulham Palace, Bishops Park, Queens Club Gardens, Furnivall Gardens and Ravenscourt Park will all be displayed on the day.
St Peter's Square will be the mid point for the day where the judges will take rest. The Square was recently selected as a setting for the period Beatrix Potter film, Miss Potter and sits snugly within a conservation area.
The Mayor concluded, "This year we are entering in eight different categories. So if the residents want to get involved, why not tidy up your front garden or perhaps plant your window box. Let's show London what we have to offer!"
