No service on West London line passing through H&F stations
A 24 strike by Southern train guards is underway on Monday,, 13 March, with no service today on the West London line through Hammersmith and Fulham.
Southern's trains normally run between Clapham Junction and Milton Keynes, taking in Imperial Wharf, West Brompton, Olympia and Shepherd's Bush, alongside the more regular London Overground service.
The Southern service normally runs three or four trains during rush hours and one per hour at other times and continues from Shepherd's Bush to Wembley Central, Harrow and Wealdstone then on to Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central.
Overground services are running as normal and Southern tickets are accepted but travellers are warned these trains may be much busier than usual. Southern also says rail tickets can be used for "reasonable" alternative journeys.
Southern advises passengers affected by the strike to visit RMT strike customer advice page, which includes more information about the times of trains, ticket acceptance and alternatives and compensation and refunds.
This is the 30th strike day by guards belonging to the RMT rail union and union members are also striking on Merseyside and the north of England.
The long running dispute is over the role of guards, with plans for drivers to become responsible for closing doors and seeing the train off from stations.
Conductors would instead have an on-board role helping passengers. However, the RMT union believes this would be unsafe and say the change is unwanted by customers.
