Shakespeare in the Square will return to St Peter’s Square this summer with anoutdoor production of Love’s Labour’s Lost, marking the company’s tenth anniversary with one of the Bard’s comedies.

The event takes place on Saturday 13 June , transforming the square into a relaxed, family-friendly theatre space complete with picnics, children’s games and complimentary treats.

Directed by Toby Gordon, the production promises an evening of flirtation, wit and mischief as Shakespeare’s tale of scholarly vows, romantic entanglements and comic misunderstandings unfolds beneath the open sky. The gates open at 5.30pm, giving audiences plenty of time to settle in with their own picnics before the performance begins at 7pm.

Seating will be provided on an unreserved basis, and the show will include a short interval, finishing at approximately 9.15pm. Organisers are asking visitors to take care of the square by disposing of all picnic waste and being mindful of neighbours when leaving.

Long-standing founding sponsor Domus Nova will once again host the picnic area, offering a hub for families and friends. Children can enjoy garden games ahead of the performance, while a pop-up stand will be serving complimentary popcorn, sweets and a limited number of drinks.

Tickets are now available to book with an early bird offer for discounted entry.
