Base Face Pizza has closed its branch at 300 King Street in Hammersmith after four years at the site.
It is moving to a new site in Richmond on 17 June to supplement its two other outlets in Barnes and Putney.
The restaurant near Ravenscourt Park was the original with jazz bass player Tim Thornton starting to make sourdough pizza in May 2020 during lockdown. He was unable to tour so made pizza for his friends and neighbours raising money for NHS Charities. He already had a neglected (Ooni Pro) pizza oven in his back garden and distributed the pizzas from the front of his house.
Just over a year later he took the decision to move into fixed premises after a period of running pop ups and then at local food markets and other venues such as the Hogarth Club in Chiswick by which time he had sold over 4,000 pizzas.
The restaurants specialise in light, crispy-base pizzas and with a commitment to using British ingredients. They continue to offer a menu of 12 pizzas, available in a 12 inch and mega 18 inch proportion. There is a 50% discount at the new restaurant on Kew Road to all those who book ahead up until this Sunday (22 June).

Articles such as the one above are integral to what we do. We aim to feature as much as possible on local societies, charities based in the area, fundraising efforts by residents, community-based initiatives and even helping people find missing pets. We've always done that and won't be changing, in fact we'd like to do more. However, the readership that these stories generates is often below that needed to cover the cost of producing them. If neither of these amounts is suitable for you then contact info@neighbournet.com and we can set up an alternative. All payments are made through a secure web site. One-off donations are also appreciated. Choose The Amount You Wish To Contribute. For businesses we offer the chance to be a corporate sponsor of community content on the site. For £30 plus VAT per month you will be the designated sponsor of at least one article a month with your logo appearing if supplied. If there is a specific community group or initiative you'd like to support we can make sure your sponsorship is featured on related content for a one off payment of £50 plus VAT.
