Sainsbury’s is planning to open a small store within Hammersmith Broadway shopping centre, which could be open 24 hours a day.
Sainsbury’s Supermarkets Ltd has submitted an application to Hammersmith & Fulham Council for a licence to sell alcohol in Units 30 - 32 Hammersmith Broadway. These units are in the middle of the centre, next to Boots.
The application says. “ Licensing Act - Premises Licence Sainsbury's- Units 30-32: The premises is a supermarket, the applicant wishes to licence the premises to cover the sale of alcohol for consumption off the premises only Licensable activities sought: The Sale of Alcohol - Off the Premises Only Mondays to Sundays between 06:00 to 00:00.
“ Proposed Opening Hours Mondays to Sundays between 00:00 to 00:00.”

The application, which can be viewed on the council website using the reference 2024/00998/LAPR is currently open for comments.
The Broadway’s Unit 30 was previously home to fast food operator Little Farm. Since its closure, the unit has been marketed by agency GCW, which now says it is "under offer".

If Sainsbury’s gets the go ahead, it will become the Broadway’s second supermarket, alongside the existing Tesco Express, which is open from 6am till midnight from Monday to Saturday.
Both rival companies also have larger stores in the local area - Tesco in Brook Green and Sainsbury’s within King Street’s Livat shopping centre.
