A new season of Music, Literature and Art

Tommy Sands
Fri 27th Oct Doors 7.30pm Tickets £8

Tommy Sands, Co. Down singer, songwriter and social activist has achieved something akin to legendary status in his own lifetime. From the pioneering days with the highly influential Sands Family, he has developed into one of the most powerful songwriters in Ireland today.

His songwriting, which draws the admiration of Nobel Poet Laureate Seamus Heaney and father of folk music Pete Seeger, prompted respected US magazine Sing Out to regard him as 'the most powerful songwriter in Ireland, if not the rest of the world'. According to Eamon McCann of Hot Press , 'Sands has a way with words to charm and disarm and coax a chorus out of the tightest jawed audience'. On this tour Tommy will be accompanied for the first time in Britain , by his daughter, Moya, who at a very early age began to sing and play fiddle; she now travels the world performing with her father.
