The Hammersmith Winter Festival is returning as part of the borough’s car-free seasonal programme, offering a day of music, markets, and family activities.

The event on Saturday 15 November runs from 10am to 4pm along King Street and on Lyric Square and is free to attend.

Festival Highlights include live performances which will take place throughout the day with a varied programme suitable for all ages. There will be a tribute act as well roaming performers in seasonal costume. The pop-up market will feature over 100 stalls selling handmade gifts, crafts, jewellery, homeware, fashion, and art plus a seasonal food quarter will offer festive dishes and drinks, with outdoor seating available.

To support pedestrian access and stall setup, King Street (including the cycle lane) will be closed to vehicle traffic between the Gyratory and Bridge Avenue from 4am to 10pm. Bridge Avenue will also be closed during these hours.

Several bus routes will be diverted on the day:

  • Routes 110, 190, 267, H91, N9 and N11 will divert via Hammersmith Broadway, Shepherds Bush Road, Goldhawk Road, Paddenswick Road and Dalling Road.
  • Routes 218, 306 and N266 will divert via Hammersmith Broadway, Shepherds Bush Road, Goldhawk Road and Askew Road.
  • Route 27 will terminate at Hammersmith Bus Station and will not serve King Street or Glenthorne Road.

This event is part of the council’s ongoing initiative to revitalise high streets through traffic-free community gatherings. For those unable to attend, a second seasonal market will take place on North End Road later in the festive period.

Trading applications for this year’s Christmas markets have now closed. For stall-related enquiries, contact: TrafficFreeEvents@lbhf.gov.uk
