Nominations close on Monday

Spring is when the Hammersmith Society starts thinking about which new developments in our area are worthy of our annual Awards.

These consist of the main ENVIRONMENT AWARD for major schemes and the NANCYE [sic] GOULDEN AWARD for smaller schemes. The latter is named in honour of our first Honorary Secretary who was a founder-member in 1964.

Also at stake is who is going to be named and shamed by the WOODEN SPOON AWARDS. These are for eyesores, carbuncles and for schemes that just got it wrong. There may be more than one winner in this category - so developers, architects and planners beware!

Winners of the awards will be announced at our Annual General Meeting on Thursday, 2nd June at 7pm. The venue for this will be confirmed later.

In the meantime, the Hammersmith Society is inviting nominations for these awards from its members and from the general public. Nominations close at 6pm on Monday, 18th April
