Regenerated Hurlingham Park officially opened

Local residents were invited to join in the full-time celebrations as a regenerated Hurlingham Park was officially launched with a community party, on Saturday (9 April).

Hammersmith & Fulham Council, with the help of Chelsea Football Club and Groundwork West London, have worked to improve the Hurlingham Park in Fulham. This local facility has received a needed face-lift with old play equipment replaced with new gear and a new multi-use games area, in addition to the new sports pavilion, athletics facilities and all-weather pitch. These changes are sure to breed a new generation of sporting heroes from Hammersmith & Fulham.

The play equipment and games area improvements have been part-funded by money Chelsea Football Club has ploughed into the community. Hammersmith & Fulham Council has matched their contribution to allow all these great changes to kick off.

The borough's mayor, Cllr Charlie Treloggan, was on site to officially open the new improved park facilities. Chelsea coaches, from the club's Football in the Community team, held coaching sessions to complement the sports being offered by the Mini-Olympics multi-sports event, which was also held in Hurlingham Park as part of the Hammersmith & Fulham Festival, while Groundwork West London provided free refreshments and a treasure hunt for children.
