Illuminate

A multi disciplined art event focusing on the theme of 'light'.

The exhibition features a diverse group. Ten distinguished contemporary artists who work with a wide range of materials and processes to include painters, sculptors, installation artists, filmmakers and photographers.

Each artist that has been carefully selected for their unique style, energy and approach to light and have been given their own room to transform. It should be a dynamic, innovative and challenging show.

Event manager Tessa McArthur said: "The artists involved already have highly reputable contemporary art careers and were eager to show their work because of the concept of 'light' as the central theme."

The event will take place in 'The Old School House', a three minute walk from Hammersmith tube station, between 20th Sept - 2nd Oct 2004. The venue has been selected for its easy access, charm, allure and beautiful illumination. The large scale space is in a transitional period before renovation into a advertising studio complex and has been kindly loaned to us by the Sainsbury/Devonshire family.

The Private View will be on Thursday 23rd Sept. The audience for this will be large and diverse. It will include amongst others; renowned art critics and artists; the advertising and fashion world; owners and curators from high profile galleries; professors and tutors from the major art
schools; a large mixed media and press contingent and the Devonshire/Sainsbury family. The exhibition will be open to the public Monday to Saturday and will be well publicised in local and national papers, magazines and art publications, including after event reviews. We have many
prime contacts in this area. It is a free event and we expect a high general public attendance from all members of the community.
