Free e-scooter Skills Sessions to Be Held in Hammersmith

Boost your confidence and safety with trained instructors

The sessions will be held under the Flyover near St. Paul's Church

June 15, 2026

Residents of Hammersmith will have the chance to sharpen their e scooter skills at a series of free training sessions designed to boost rider confidence and safety on London’s streets.

The sessions, delivered by award winning social enterprise Bikeworks in partnership with Transport for London (TfL), Voi, and Lime, will take place under the Hammersmith flyover near St Paul’s Church (W6 9PJ) on Thursday 25 June and Thursday 9 July, from 11.30 am to 2.30 pm.

Each 40 minute workshop offers practical, hands on guidance covering essential safety checks, helmet use, and the basics of the Voi and Lime apps. Participants will learn safe riding techniques — including braking, turning and hazard avoidance — and receive clear advice on the legal requirements for riding e scooters in London.

Every attendee will leave with a free helmet and free ride minutes for either Voi or Lime, making it an ideal opportunity for new riders to gain experience in a controlled, off road environment before venturing onto public roads. Limited guided on road rides will also be available.

The initiative forms part of TfL’s ongoing work to promote safer micromobility and sustainable travel options across the capital. Bikeworks, which has earned national recognition for its inclusive cycling programmes, says the sessions are designed to make e scooter use safer and more accessible for everyone.

Participants must be aged 18 or over and are encouraged to download both the Voi and Lime apps before attending. Places can be booked online via the event page.

Whether you’re trying an e scooter for the first time or simply looking to refresh your skills, the Hammersmith sessions promise a fun, informative way to ride safely and confidently — and to join London’s growing movement towards greener, more sustainable transport.
