A murder investigation is under way after an 18‑year‑old male was fatally stabbed at a residential address in Hammersmith on Sunday evening (15 March).

Police were called to Lena Gardens at 5.58pm following reports of a stabbing. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and found two men with stab wounds inside the property.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers. A post‑mortem examination is due to take place on Tuesday (17 March).

A second man, believed to be in his thirties, was taken to hospital for treatment. He was later arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in hospital in a stable condition. Police say he will be taken into custody once discharged.

Detectives believe the two men were known to each other and are treating the incident as isolated, with no wider risk to the public.

A crime scene remains in place at Lena Gardens, a residential street off Shepherd’s Bush Road. Officers have been carrying out door‑to‑door enquiries and are reviewing CCTV from the surrounding area.

Superintendent Pali Grewal, who leads neighbourhood policing in Hammersmith & Fulham, said the incident will understandably cause concern among residents.

“Our thoughts remain with the victim’s loved ones as they come to terms with the tragic events of Sunday evening.

“We understand this will be distressing news for those living locally. A crime scene remains in place at Lena Gardens and residents can expect to see increased police patrols in the area. I encourage anyone to approach our officers if you have any concerns or questions.”

The Metropolitan Police is urging anyone with information to come forward, including residents who may have heard or seen anything unusual on Sunday evening.

People can contact police on 101, quoting reference 5093/15MAR, or provide information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
