Homeware retailer IKEA has launched its first standalone restaurant in the UK in Hammersmith.
The new venue on King Street was formerly the premises of Wasabi restaurant but will now serve dishes such as the retailer’s popular Swedish meatballs.
The 75-seat restaurant is next door to its store in the Livat Shopping Centre in King Street.
The menu includes:
• 8 meatballs served with mashed potatoes, peas, cream sauce & lingonberry jam for £5.50
• 8 plant balls served with mashed potatoes, peas, cream sauce & lingonberry jam for £4.95
• Children’s Pasta and Tomato Sauce, including a soft drink & a piece of fruit £0.95
• Penne pasta served with a delicious tomato & basil sauce for £2.95
• Fish and Chips, battered haddock served with chips & peas for £6.95
• Salmon with Cous Cous and Yogurt for £6.95
Including a breakfast option of:
• Small Cooked Breakfast, a 6-piece cooked breakfast which includes bacon, sausage, hash brown, omelette, baked beans & tomato for £2.75
• Regular Cooked Breakfast A 9-piece cooked breakfast which includes 2 slices of bacon, 2 sausages, 2 hash browns, omelette, baked beans & a tomato £3.75

“We know how much our customers love the IKEA restaurant and we’re excited to celebrate the opening of our very first high street restaurant,” said Matthew Gould, Market Manager at IKEA London City. “Fans of our delicious dishes can recharge during their shopping trip with our famous Swedish meatballs, pop in for a traditional Swedish ‘fika’ break for coffee and a sweet treat, or find an affordable meal for the kids right on the high street.”
IKEA Hammersmith is offering IKEA Family Members £5 off in store when spending £5 or more at IKEA Hammersmith Restaurant on the same day, until 30 November.
