A 21-year-old man has been jailed after exposing himself to several women on the London Underground, ending a series of incidents that came to a halt when he was arrested near Hammersmith station.
Ayman Yanoussi, of St John’s Road in Newham, was sentenced to 14 months in prison at Inner London Crown Court on 16 April. He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of exposure, breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), and possessing cannabis.
The court heard that Yanoussi began offending shortly after 11am on 28 December 2025 at Upminster Bridge station, where a woman noticed him sitting on a platform bench with his trousers around his ankles. When she attempted to film him for evidence, he pulled up his clothing and boarded a District line train heading towards Wimbledon.
Once on board, Yanoussi repeatedly targeted women across several carriages, sitting beside or opposite them before exposing himself. At least three women moved away from him as the train travelled through east and west London. His behaviour continued across multiple trains for more than an hour.
The situation escalated shortly before 1pm, when a woman reported his actions to a member of staff. British Transport Police (BTP) officers were alerted and the train was held at Hammersmith Underground station so that officers could intercept it.
Before police reached the platform, Yanoussi fled the station. A BTP officer dispatched to the scene found him moments later waiting at a nearby bus stop, where he was arrested on suspicion of exposure.
It later emerged that Yanoussi had been handed a Sexual Harm Prevention Order less than two weeks earlier, following a suspended sentence for three counts of upskirting committed in April 2024.
During transport to custody, he reportedly struck his head against the wall of the police van and told officers he regretted his actions which was captured on film.
Detective Constable Ian Hourihan of BTP described Yanoussi’s behaviour as “despicable,” adding:
“He sought sexual gratification on the railway at the expense of dozens of women and other commuters. I am pleased to see him put behind bars, and would like to commend the bravery of the women who came forward to report his actions so we could secure justice.”
BTP believes additional victims may not yet have come forward and is encouraging anyone affected to report incidents by texting 61016, the force’s discreet reporting line.
Yanoussi will now serve his custodial sentence for the offences, including the breach of his SHPO.
