Leon in Hammersmith Broadway
December 29, 2025
Fast food chain Leon has closed its restaurant in Hammersmith Broadway shopping centre.
It is one of around 20 of the chain’s “most unprofitable” outlets to be shut down under plans announced by owner John Vincent. Other nearby casualties include restaurants in Westfield in Shepherd’s Bush, Notting Hill and Earls Court.
John Vincent was an original co-founder of Leon when it opened its first restaurant in Carnaby Street in 2004, and he recently reacquired the company from Asda.
At the time, he said that Leon had been losing around £10 million a year so the programme of closures was his “immediate priority”.
Announcing the Hammersmith closure, the company said: “ Sadly, we've now closed Leon Hammersmith. Even though we're sad to close our doors here, we hope this isn't a ‘goodbye’ but a ‘see you soon’ in one of our other Leon Restaurants.”

The "healthy fast food" restaurant has been a central part of the Broadway centre since opening in November 2015. Leon has said it would try to find jobs for staff in stores that remain open, and the company has also developed a programme with Pret A Manger, allowing former staff to apply for jobs with the coffee chain.
The loss of Leon is the second major blow this month for Hammersmith Town Centre, following the closure of King Street’s Poundland over Christmas.
